Relaxation Breathing

Lessen stress and tension in your body and mind with relaxation breathing.

I first learned the technique when I was pregnant and attending birthing classes. It really helped, I was able to give birth naturally. That means no pain meds, no epidural! That was my first baby and he weighed in at 8lbs, 15oz. Big boy! What a powerful experience that was. our bodies can be very impressive.

Another time the relaxation breathing technique came in handy is when my hubby started having panic attacks. It doesn't necessarily make the attacks go away, buy it can help a suffering person get through the episode a bit more comfortably.

Relaxation Breathing
Sit in a comfortable position.
Put one hand on your belly just below your ribs and the other hand on your chest.
Take a deep breath in through your nose, and let your belly push your hand out. Your chest should not move.
Breathe out through pursed lips as if you were whistling. Feel the hand on your belly go in, and use it to push all the air out.
Do this breathing 3 to 10 times. Take your time with each breath. Stumble Upon Toolbar
